Emerson: A Bit Too Far?

Emersions argument in "The American Scholar" about American society is no longer valid. His movement has worked and has changed our society through his literature and educational reform.

Even though his plan worked it has worked so well that now it needs to backtrack. Emersions argument is that we need to be less specified and more intelligent. He changed the way America's entire educational system works. We have reached a point where specialization occurs only at the last point of your formal education. You start to get a slight choice in Middle school but only it involves 2 hours of the days 6 hours. In High school it is more specialized but college is where specialization starts to exist. The child has already had around 13 years of education that is the same as everyone else. His reform has worked but too well, this extremism needs to stop.
